Meet Our Team
We’d like to introduce our friendly Outram Fields team who are determined to be the difference in senior care.
At Outram Fields we treat people how we’d like them to treat our loved ones – like family. We understand everyone we look after has their own needs and preferences. So we create care plans which address everything from their individual care provision and dietary requirements to their favourite foods and hobbies. And with great food on the menu every day, each day is a new enjoyable experience.

What I do:
I am the General Manager at Outram Fields Care Home. I am passionate about providing the highest standards of care and support to the people who choose to live with us and ensure my team operate to the same level. It is a real privilege to care for the residents at Outram Fields and my whole purpose is to ensure that we aim to be the best in everything we provide.
My experience:
I qualified as a Nurse in 1994 in my home town of Mansfield in Nottinghamshire and I’m proud to say that my whole career has been in Care, with my first Registered Managers post taken in 2002. I am proud to say that during the Covid pandemic, we didn’t lose any of our residents to the virus and kept everyone safe. I was also a founding member of The Caring View, a podcast to support all Managers during the pandemic.
About me:
I moved to Sheffield 12 years ago from Mansfield after falling in love with my Yorkshire man. If I’m not at work, I’m at home enjoying cooking a nice meal and relaxing with my adopted black cat. My holidays consist of my caravan, a field and stunning scenery in our beautiful countryside.

What I Do:
Hello, I’m Claire and my role is to support families, friends and anyone who is looking for a care home for their loved one or themselves. From the moment they make their inquiry for care to when they move their loved one into Outram Fields, I ensure that their journey goes as smoothly as possible by supporting them every step of the way. Choosing the right care home can be one of the most difficult decisions to make and having gone through this myself with my own family I know first hand the emotions this brings. I am committed to ensuring family members receive the necessary support during this challenging time.
My Experience:
In 2019, I transitioned into the care industry after over seven years in renewable energy. Initially, I took on the role of Business Development Manager at Home Instead Doncaster. When the pandemic struck a few months later, I underwent carer training to offer hands-on support as required. In 2022, I became a Home Admissions Advisor for a luxury care home in Doncaster. In 2023, I saw a role for a Home Admissions Advisor at Cinnamon Care Collection, drawn to their mission of positively impacting residents’ lives and supporting their families.
About Me:
Outside of work I am either on my allotment, dog sitting, babysitting for my friends, visiting my family in Skegness or outside walking in the countryside. Having been raised on a farm in rural Lincolnshire, I have a deep appreciation for the joys of a simple lifestyle.

Claire Barker
Activities Coordinator
Claire Barker
Activities Coordinator
What I do:
My role is to plan and deliver a varied and inclusive programme of activities for every resident at Outram Fields. Each task aims to promote mental well-being: this is done through a variety of physical, creative, therapeutic, sensory, and artistic tasks that facilitate experiences to enable residents to build on what they know and enjoy already and allow them the opportunity to experience something new in a social, caring, and friendly environment. This can be achieved in large, small, and individual groups. We welcome members of the community to come to Outram whether that be pupils from the local school, a toddler group, volunteers, and experts – the key is to enable residents to continue to develop successful relationships.
My experience:
During the last 25 years I have taught in primary schools in Cheshire, North Wales, and Sheffield. Moving to Outram Fields to pursue a career in the Care Industry has allowed me to use my experience of building strong, caring relationships with individuals and to plan and implement creative and interactive activities: meeting the needs of everyone, allowing everyone the opportunity to succeed.
About me:
There is nothing I like more than to be out in the fresh air: whether that’s a walk in the Peak District or pottering around my garden. I am also a member of the Derbyshire Scouting Association Climbing team. We regularly meet groups of Cubs, Scouts and Explorers delivering abseiling, climbing and crate stacking sessions. When I’m not out and about I enjoy visiting the cinema or meeting friends for a drink and a catch-up.
