Paying for care

Care home fees, price increases and funding caps.

The average cost for care in a care home is a post code lottery with fees varying considerably depending on where you live. Currently, if you are anywhere north of London you can expect to pay around £800 per week for a placement in a basic residential care home, and around £1000 per week if that also includes nursing care.

Rivermede Court reunites former actress resident with Sir Ian McKellan after 50 years. Marcia Ashton performed on stage with Sir Ian McKellan in ‘How Dare We!’ at the Arts Theatre in Ipswich from 16 January 1963 to 2 February 1963. They have subsequently followed each other’s careers with interest.

Residents at Rivermede Court in Egham had a day out to remember at The Royal Windsor Flower Show. Not only did they win two prizes for their gardening abilities (second prize for their ornamental grass and for their lettuces), but they also met gardening celebrity, Alan Titchmarsh.
