NAPA Awards Results 2025! Egham Care Home Celebrates Double Success at National Activity Awards

Rivermede Court care home in Egham is celebrating success after its two exceptional activity team members were recognised for their outstanding achievements at the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA) Awards. These awards shine a spotlight on the people and care homes across the UK delivering activities that enhance the lives of residents.

Chrissie Webster, a volunteer in the activities team at Rivermede Court, was crowned winner of the Unsung Hero category, awarded for invaluable contributions to activity provision without seeking recognition.

Hanka Vlhova, Rivermede Court’s Senior Activities Co-Ordinator, was awarded Highly Commended in the Working Together category which recognises the power of collaboration and partnership in terms of developing creative approaches to activity and engagement.

Under Hanka’s leadership, Rivermede Court’s activities team has organised a wide range of stimulating and fun activities for residents over the last year including a craft club at Egham Library, trips and educational classes with BCA Zoo, gardening competitions for the Royal Windsor Flower Show, visits to Royal Windsor Theatre and a host of initiatives with local churches, Egham Chambers of Commerce and Egham Museum. The activities team also runs daily activities at the care home, including art, music and gardening.

Geoff Pride, Engagement and Activities Manager for the Cinnamon Care Collection, attended the national awards ceremony in Liverpool with Hanka and Chrissie. He said, “What an achievement to have gained such success in these hugely prestigious national awards. We are all so proud of Hanka and Chrissie – they have such a passion for enhancing the lives of our residents. Hanka and Chrissie are creative, caring and completely dedicated to ensuring that residents are stimulated, connected to the community and have a wide range of activities to get involved with. They thoroughly deserve this recognition.”

Chrissie Webster said, “I am honoured and so proud to have received this award. I am still in shock…it hasn’t sunk in! I volunteer at Rivermede Court because I love to help spread joy. To see a smile on a resident’s face is all I need. I will treasure this award and remember the event always.”

Hanka Vlhova added, “Both Chrissie and I love what we do and are both motivated by organising and running activities that make a difference to our residents’ lives. It was incredible being at these awards and realising that the activities we organise at Rivermede Court have officially been recognised as amongst the best in the country.”
