Runnymede Business Innovation of the Year Award 2023
Rivermede Court care home is recognised as ‘Highly Commended’ in the 2023 Runnymede Business Innovation of the Year Awards run by Runnymede Borough Council.
The Egham-based care home impressed the judges with its focus on pushing boundaries whilst also creating stimulating initiatives for residents which enabled them to feel part of the local community.
Hanka Vlhova, Activities Co-Ordinator, Rivermede Court, who spearheaded these initiatives said, “It’s great to be recognised by Runnymede Borough Council for some of the ground-breaking initiatives we have launched at Rivermede Court, including our innovative and fun POUND fitness classes, set to rock music, which we opened up to the local community, and Circle of Life, which involved residents creating seed paper which we sent to local schools, nurseries and community groups so that they could grow beautiful flowers and create new life.”
Candice O’Neill, General Manager at Rivermede Court said, “We take great pride in always going the extra mile for our residents – and the initiatives which Hanka successfully introduced not only pushed boundaries but have given such pleasure to our residents. Being recognised by Runnymede Borough Council for our achievements is fantastic! We are so proud to have been selected as a finalist for the Runnymede Business Awards.”
Mark Adams, Chair of Business Runnymede said, “I was really impressed, not only by the number of entries but also by the outstanding depth and quality of the submissions.”
The awards were launched by Runnymede Borough Council to celebrate and raise the profile of local and regional businesses. Over 75 businesses were nominated for the awards and just 19 were selected as finalists. The winners were announced at a ceremony at the prestigious Fairmont Windsor Hotel.
