Volunteer Spotlight Shining a light on our important volunteers

Volunteers are welcomed as such an important part of the Sunnybank House Family and we know the benefits to everyone of having such support from our local community. We are delighted that Yvonne Saunders has chosen us after starting her volunteer journey over 12 years ago.

Yvonne has been a favourite addition to our activities program for over a year now and her friendliness, smiles and warmth show through in everything she does. She underplays her worth, but we know our residents really enjoy her time and dedication. Yvonne says she really enjoys meeting up with residents who have been at Sunnybank House for a long time and she also loves finding out more about new residents to help us ensure we can continue to develop and meet individual needs. She said she just loves ‘putting a smile on their faces’.

Yvonne lives locally, she retired 13 years ago as a ward clerk for Winchester Hospital. She remembers the home when it was being built and how the land was used before. The school opposite Sunnybank House was where her children went and now her grandchildren go. So, we can definitely say that Yvonne is a local star both to us and many others.

We thank all of our volunteers so very much but this moment is a special large ‘Thankyou’ just for Yvonne !
