It is surrounded by rich history and vibrant culture with the Idyllic South Downs on one side, to the other side lies the protected nature reserve of the Denmead Gap. Nearby, and less than 20 minutes away is the historic dockyard city of Portsmouth.

Being part of a community is at the heart of our care and approach. Each floor is named after a famous local landmark, such as the Langstone ground floor which is named after the 18th century Langstone Windmill. The first floor is Solent, named after the strait which separates the Isle of Wight from the mainland. And our Portsdown dementia community is on the second floor, offering breathtaking views of Portsdown Hill and The Forest of Bere.

Luxury Care Home

Life at Wellington Vale is all about living in a luxury environment with great company, and an expert care team that knows your individual needs. We are proud that Wellington Vale is such an integral part of the local community. In normal times we welcome our neighbours to visit either for a coffee and chat or to take part in one of our numerous events such as our summer fete. And during lockdown we have instigated the Walk and Wave initiative to keep the community together.

Each floor is a special community of its own, with its own stylish furnishings and facilities. Stepping into the Langstone floor residents are immediately greeted with a beautifully decorated coffee lounge to relax in with friends. The aroma from freshly brewed coffee and baked delicacies wafts through the air and residents can help themselves to delicious cakes and pastries all day.

The large French doors in our stylish dining room lead out to our delightful Lavender garden and a south-facing patio that gives spectacular views of the Portsdown Hill. In the summer our patio garden is the place to be for barbeques, Alfresco dining, summer songs and outdoor entertainment.

Our charming ground floor lounges open out to an east-facing patio garden which overlooks The Forest of Bere. Here, residents can enjoy spotting visiting birds such as bluetits, thrushes and various birds of prey.

Upstairs on the Solent floor is our full screen cinema room, featuring a working popcorn stand for resident to help themselves to. Watch a great movie you haven’t seen for a while, or enjoy a sitcom with new friends. Our restaurant serves delicious homecooked meals with seasonal choices inspired by our own residents, catering to individual dietary requirements.

The Portsdown floor is our dedicated dementia community that recognises that each person’s dementia is unique to the individual. Our first-class dementia care is person-centered offering support and encouragement for our residents to live full and active lives.
